We are pleased to say that we have just been appointed by Rushmoor Borough Council to work with them to develop a new cycling centre in Aldershot. Proposals for the new centre include a closed road circuit, BMX pump track, mountain bike skills course and learn to ride area. The total cost is estimated at over £1 million.
Our role is to help the council secure British Cycle funding from their “Places to Ride” programme. Our task is to consult the local cycling community to carry out a detailed assessment of demand and use this to build a programme and business plan. This is aimed at demonstrating how the centre will deliver British Cycling’s priorities and secure the target of a £500,000 grant.
